| FINA FONT RUANA is from La Fatarella where she was born in 1952. She has collected, transcribed and adapted the story. She studied Philosophy at Barcelona University although she had already started her studies at her village. In the photo you can see a bucolic image with her brother with pitchforks and harvesters in the background. In those times, girls were meant to just learn sewing while boys were taught at school. |

JOSEP DESCARREGA GIRONÈS, the uncle from cal Fuster, was born in la Fatarella in 1898 and died in; He lived for 93 years. He was a farmer and it was him who told us the story of Xirolet or the wally. You can see him in the photo doing a walkin stick for Saint Francisco Day, a traditional centenary pilgrimage which is celebrated year after year every second Saturday after Eater. Just as his neighbours he never failed to go.
