Camp de treball internacional a la Fatarella del 1 al 15 de juliol 

Do you want to participate to the heritage restoration of our beautiful village? Be an active volunteer!!! 

Obre’t’ebre is a youth organisation run by ex European Volunteer Services, promoting social values for young people from rural areas and local community; we organise workcamps, exchanges, and host and send volunteers. This is the first work camp that we organize at the mountains of Terra Alta and hopefully the camp will contribute to open the eyes of the youngsters and the community as a whole towards new ways of doing things, conservate heritage, co-habiting and learning. Work: The “Costa de Mirafont” is a dry-stone path the begins at the chapel of la Mare de Déu del Carme and continues up in the mountains. The path has been heavily damaged by several agents.

The theme of the work camp is to refurbish the dry-stone path in accordance with the traditional technique, with the help of two professionels of dry-stone. The idea is to restore its original aspect and at the same time to conserve its basic function that is to pass satisfactorily the rain water.The purpose of the camp is to create awareness of the recover of this historical heritage. Another purpose is to establish relations between the Catalan youth of la Fatarella, the local population in general and the international volunteers. Accommodation: In the local school of la Fatarella. There will be mattresses but the volunteers will bring a sleeping bag. Showers at the public swimming pool, with free access. Dinner is provided by "casa Ecològica" (ecological house) and breakfast and lunch at the school, prepared by volonteers.

Free time activities: Swimming pool and soccer, debates and workshops arranged by local associations. Excursions around the village.

There will be also be an organized trip to the beaches of Delta de l’Ebre.Partner org: Obre’t’Ebre together with the Fundació el Solà, Associació de Joves Amics de la cultura de la Fatarella, and the municipality of la Fatarella.
